A message from the Chief of Police

The Edgewood Government Offices will remain closed today. Officers are out and will continue to monitor the city while the rest of the storm passes.

 City Hall and the Police Department Administrative offices will be open for business tomorrow.

 We want to thank all the citizens and businesses who assisted during the storm. We are very grateful!

 A special thank you to A1 Septic for providing the sand and bags to be able to give to our residents and businesses. Over 900 sandbags were handed out!!!

Thursday, 9/5 regular household and yard waste pickup
Saturday, 9/7 recycling makeup day
Monday, 9/9 regular schedule resumes


Orange County is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning.

A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical-storm-force winds are expected somewhere within this area within the next 36 hours.

Tropical Storm force (35-45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph) winds are expected Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.

Shelters are open in Orange County. For locations, visit www.ocfl.net/shelters or call 3-1-1.

Edgewood Government offices will be closed for normal business on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
The Edgewood Budget Meeting scheduled for September 3rd at 630PM is canceled and will be rescheduled.

Orange County Public Schools will remain closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The Orange/Osceola Court system will be closed until Thursday.

Monday 9/3 NO garbage or yard waste pick up
Wednesday, 9/4 no recycling pickup 

Thursday, 9/5 regular household and yard waste pickup (weather and street access permitting)
Saturday, 9/7 recycling makeup day

Monday, 9/9 regular schedule resumes
Please do not place items by the street.  We do not want our garbage or yard waste to become flying debris during the storm.  

Though Edgewood Police will be checking on our residents whom we know to have special health needs, I would like to ask you to please consider checking on any of your neighbors who may be elderly or who may have special needs during this time.
