Special Food Service Liquor License

Growing Edgewood’s economy is a top priority, especially post-pandemic. Bringing in new businesses, especially restaurants, to complement our flourishing Edgewood Central District is essential to the economic growth of our community.

Governor DeSantis has passed House Bill 1423 which offers small restaurants in the Edgewood Central District a path to a much more affordable Liquor License. The goal is to not only make it easier for business owners to effectively run their businesses, but to also make Edgewood destination where anyone can enjoy delicious food, great drinks and an enjoyable atmosphere.

Guidelines
  • Business must be located in the Edgewood Central District (ECD)
  • Business must have at least 1,800 sq.ft. of space (in lieu of 2,500 sq.ft.)
  • Businesses must have at least 80 seats (in lieu of 150 seats)
  • Businesses must derive 51% of their revenue from the sale of food and non-alcoholic beverages
Additional Information
  • Businesses seeking to change their liquor license or add additional seats may be subject to additional Planning and/or Permitting requirements and impact fees.
